Terms of service
Effective 20 September 2026
Smacros is operated by Zeb Dropkin ("we", "us"). By using Smacros you agree to these terms.
1. The service
Smacros keeps a record of what you eat and what you weigh. You log by talking to Claude, which calls Smacros on your behalf, and you read the result in the Smacros dashboard. Using Smacros requires your own Claude account with Anthropic; that account is governed by Anthropic's terms, not these.
2. Not medical advice
Smacros is a record-keeping tool. It is not a medical device and does not give medical, nutritional or dietary advice. Talk to a qualified professional before changing your diet, and do not use Smacros to manage a medical condition or an eating disorder.
3. Estimates are estimates
Many of the figures in your record are estimates made by an AI model from your description or a photo. They can be wrong. The record marks which figures are estimates and which came from a label or a menu. You are responsible for the decisions you make from them.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 to use Smacros.
5. Your record is yours
You own what you log. We claim no rights in it beyond what is needed to store it and show it back to you. You can download all of it, or destroy all of it, at any time from the Account page, whether or not you are paying.
6. Trial, subscription and payment
- New accounts start with a free trial. No card is needed to start one.
- After the trial, logging requires a subscription: $7 a month or $49 a year. Prices are in US dollars and do not include tax.
- Purchases are sold through Link, a Stripe service, which is the seller of record. Checkout shows any tax, and the amount in your currency, before you pay. Link's own terms apply to the payment.
- A subscription renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the Account page; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds. If you write to support@smacros.app within 14 days of a charge, we refund it. After that, refunds are at our discretion.
- If a subscription ends, logging pauses. Everything you logged stays readable and exportable.
- If we change a price, we will tell you before your next renewal, and the new price applies from that renewal.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use Smacros to break the law, to attack or overload the service, to reach anyone else's record, or to resell access. Accounts are for one person.
8. Availability
We work to keep Smacros running and your record safe, but the service is provided as is, without a guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. We may change or discontinue features. If we ever shut Smacros down, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and your record will remain downloadable throughout.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of Smacros, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Smacros in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under the law of the place you live that cannot be limited by contract.
10. Ending your account
You can stop at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms; where we can, we will warn you first and leave you able to download your record.
11. Privacy
Our privacy policy says what we hold and what we do with it.
12. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version is posted here with a new effective date. If the change is material, we will tell you in the dashboard or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Smacros after that means you accept the new terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida.
